A narration attributed to Maimuna, reports:
"I put the water near Allah's Messenger to take a bath
because of sexual intercourse." He washed his palms two or three times and
then put his hand in the basin and he poured water on his body, then he struck
the hand against the earth and rubbed it hard and then performed the ablution
for the prayer and then poured three handfuls of water on the head and then
washed the whole body after which He made a side of that place and washed his
feet, and then he brought me a towel (so he can clean his body), but he gave it
back. "
Similarly, Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen said, "ghusl
sufficient means you rinse your mouth and nose, then washed the whole body with
water, even if it means plunging into deep water at once.
Complete Ghusl means wash your private parts and in any
other place that is contaminated with impurities, then make your head full,
then pour the water over your head three times, making sure it reaches the
roots of the hair, then wash the right side of the body and then the left.
"
Shi'i thought school
According to the Shiite school, there are two main methods
for the realization of a ghusl. For both methods one has to start with niyyah,
the intention to eliminate the impurities.
Irtimasi :. You have to submerge your entire body in pure
water, either simultaneously or by stages
Tartibi:
1. Water should be poured over the head in the neck three
times with the niyyah.
2. Pour the water on the shoulders three times each with the
niyyah. The hands should go through the whole body when the water is poured so
that no part of the body remains dry.
